Dave Fisher, a lifelong resident of Opelousas, Louisiana, graduated from Opelousas Catholic High School in 1983 and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. His passion for the outdoors was nurtured through years spent in the Atchafalaya Basin and along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. This deep appreciation for land and wildlife guided him through a fulfilling career with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) and later as a Park Ranger with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in the Atchafalaya Basin.
Dave's professional journey began in 1988 when he joined the LDWF as a Specialist in Fish Division, aiding in freshwater fisheries management. He later moved to Game Division, working at the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area, an area he knew well from his childhood. His role involved working with Biologist and Foresters to manage wildlife and timber, fulfilling his lifelong passion for the outdoors. As a Park Ranger with the USACE he works with co-workers and other agencies to protect the natural resources of the Atchafalaya Basin through wildlife and land management and monitoring easements placed on private lands.
At 58, Dave obtained his real estate license and joined Wildlife Land Group where he combines his 35 years of experience in wildlife and land management from LDWF and the USACE with a fresh enthusiasm for real estate. Dave is dedicated to helping clients find properties that align perfectly with their needs. Whether clients are seeking a quite retreat, farmland, or a prime hunting ground, Dave's unique expertise and genuine passion make him an invaluable ally in the search for your ideal piece of land.
