I'm Oliver Carmichael. I grew up in northern Lafayette Parish and went to
school in Carencro. After completing college at the University of Southwestern
Louisiana, I worked in the oil and gas fabrication business for over 30 years. I now work
with Wildlife Land Group as a licensed real estate agent specializing in
finding that perfect piece of property for those seeking a rural home site,
farm, ranch, commercial, investment or recreational tract, large or small. My
background has allowed me opportunities in the expanding renewable energy
market, including wind, solar and now carbon capture. Through personal
experience, I've learned that owning property often leads to other
opportunities, both investment and recreational. As a property owner, one thing
that brings me joy these days is spending time with friends and family on a
dove or duck hunt. It's these times that remind me of the true, God-given
blessings of life. That is, enjoying time with others.
While in college, Jay sold snowcones from the back of an old mail truck as well as from an Authentic Railroad Caboose which he renovated for the same purpose. Jay then started Syrup Systems, Inc., a family run business, which manufactures and produces snowcone and shaved ice equipment, syrups, and accessories for Amusement Parks across the United States. He is an active member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and has served on both the Space Allocation and the Manufacturer and Supplier Committees. His company was awarded IAAPA’s highest and most coveted “Impact Award” for Best New Product in an amusement park out of over 1,300 participating companies and continues to be a top industry innovator.
For years Jay has managed family properties, commercial and recreational, and has a passion for hunting and the outdoors. From creating Food Plots to working with Forrester’s to manage timber harvests and everything in between, He loves spending time with his Family at their farm in Mississippi.
