While in college, Jay sold snowcones from the back of an old mail truck as well as from an Authentic Railroad Caboose which he renovated for the same purpose. Jay then started Syrup Systems, Inc., a family run business, which manufactures and produces snowcone and shaved ice equipment, syrups, and accessories for Amusement Parks across the United States. He is an active member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and has served on both the Space Allocation and the Manufacturer and Supplier Committees. His company was awarded IAAPA’s highest and most coveted “Impact Award” for Best New Product in an amusement park out of over 1,300 participating companies and continues to be a top industry innovator.
For years Jay has managed family properties, commercial and recreational, and has a passion for hunting and the outdoors. From creating Food Plots to working with Forrester’s to manage timber harvests and everything in between, He loves spending time with his Family at their farm in Mississippi.
With a Client base ranging from “Mom & Pop” Family Farms to Publicly Traded Fortune 500 companies, he has served both ends of the spectrum having the knowledge and expertise to service each client’s specific needs by using “Out of the Box” negotiations to culminate the necessary business transactions. Jay is an Accredited Land Consultant ( ALC ), which is a designation awarded by the REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI) to less than .01% of REALTORS® in the country.
